Freiburg, the capital of the Black Forest
Hardly anyone who visits the Black Forest on holiday will want to miss out on a visit to the city of Freiburg. This city in Southern Baden is an experience at any time of the year. A walk through the old town will surprise you with delightful discoveries at every turn. The extensive pedestrian zone with shops, boutiques, arcades and markets makes it a pleasure to stroll around and do some shopping. Cosy wine bars and smart restaurants invite you to stay a while. Many also admire the "Bächle", the small streams that wind through the streets and alleys. Take a break from wandering around the town and dip your tired feet in the stream – this is one "service" that only Freiburg can offer.
